According to the Wrap, Emma is looking to make her broadway debut with the “Cabaret” revival. Anne Hathaway was previously attached to the role of Sally but the rumor was then turned down by her publicist. Nothing has been confirmed by Emma’s rep.
Emma Stone is in talks to make her Broadway debut in an upcoming revival of “Cabaret.”
The Wrap reports that an unnamed source said Stone is in talks to play Sally Bowles in the musical. Bowles previously has been played by many notable names including Liza Minnelli, Judi Dench and Natasha Richardson.
The new revival of the musical was reported last week by the New York Times, and will be staged at Studio 54 in early 2014 by the Roundabout Theater Company. Alan Cummings will reprise his role as the M.C. – he won a Tony Award for the same performance in 1998 during a Roundabout revival that also ran at Studio 54.
Roundabout has yet to officially confirm the revival – a spokesman declined to comment to the Times.
It was initially reported that Anne Hathaway would take on the role of Bowles, but that was denied by her publicist, who called the original Daily Mail report “completely false.”
“Cabaret” is based on the play “I Am a Camera” by John Van Druten, as well as stories of Christopher Isherwood. The musical features a book by Joe Masteroff and a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb. That score features well-known hits such as the title song, “Willkommen,” “Don’t Tell Mama” and “So What.”
The musical originally premiered on Broadway in 1966 and was directed by Harold Prince. That production ran for more than 1,100 performances. The 1998 revival featuring Cummings began previews in March 1998 and ran for 2,414 performances. The late Natasha Richards starred as Bowles in that production.
A film adaptation of “Cabaret” premiered in 1972 and starred Liza Minelli, Michael York and Joel Grey. The film was somewhat altered from the original stage version. It was nominated for ten Academy Awards in 1973, winning eight, including Best Actress for Minnelli and Best Director for Bob Fosse.

UPDATED: A strong showing from “The Croods” assisted in the $134.6 million in revenue and $5.6 million in net income.
DreamWorks Animation reported $134.6 million in revenue and $5.6 million in net income in the most recent quarter, with overperformance in home video and a strong showing from The Croods encouraging investors to bid the stock 8 percent higher in afterhours trading.
In the previous period, DWA took an $87 million charge for the underperformance of Rise of the Guardians. Since then, the stock has risen 16 percent.
The company said during its previous earnings call that 400 layoffs were coming as DWA attempts to “right-size the whole enterprise,” as CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg put it. On Tuesday, Katzenberg told The Hollywood Reporter that some of the 400 worker are already gone while others have been notified that they’d be laid off soon. He also said that no further layoffs are expected.
The company has delayed the release of Mr. Peabody & Sherman, and Me & My Shadow has been yanked from the schedule indefinitely. Peabody is “moving along great,” Katzenberg said Tuesday and there is no update on Shadow.
During a conference call Tuesday, DWA executives — prompted by a Wall Street analyst — discussed Disney’s planned July 3 Johnny Depp release The Lone Ranger since it is a property licensed by Classic Media, a company DWA recently purchased.
DWA got a “small amount” up front for the film and gets profit participation on the backend as well as merchandise revenue. “So we’re rooting for them,” Katzenberg said.
The stock was up a few pennies during the regular session Tuesday to $19.28 but surged $1.62 in the after-hours session.
“This year is off to an outstanding start,” Katzenberg said in a release. “The Croods has reached a blockbuster level of nearly $480 million at the worldwide box office and is well on its way to becoming the No. 1 movie released during the first four months of 2013.”
The Croods was distributed by DWA’s new distribution partner, 20th Century Fox.
Home entertainment releases Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted contributed $22.8 million during the quarter, and Rise of the Guardians brought in $9.6 million. Puss in Boots contributed $7.5 million.
“The strength of our worldwide box office results from The Croods and overperformance in home video from both of our 2012 titles demonstrate success in DWA’s core business so far this year,” said COO Ann Daly.

The untitled project will shoot in France this summer.
Emma Stone and Colin Firth will star in Woody Allen’s next, currently untitled comedy.
While the plot of the project is still very much under wraps, we do know that the film will be set in the South of France and shoot this summer.
The project will mark Allen’s second time shooting in France, and it will be his eighth film set in Europe.
The Gravier Productions film is produced by Allen’s longtime associates Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum.
Cinematographer Darius Khondji, production designer Anne Seibel and costume designer Sonia Grande, who all worked with Allen on Midnight in Paris and To Rome With Love, will collaborate again on this film.Allen’s next film to hit theaters will be Blue Jasmine, opening July 26 via Sony Pictures Classics.
Stone, whose upcoming projects include The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Birdman, is repped by WME, Anonymous Content and Ziffren Brittenham. Firth, who will star in Genius and The Railway Man, is represented by CAA and Independent Talent.

Thanks to Jim Shi for giving us a glimpse at the guest list for this year’s Met Ball (Costume Institute Gala), we now have learned that Emma is invited to the annual fashion event, themed “Punk Chaos to Couture”.

Deadline is reporting that Emma is currently in negotiations to star in Woody Allen’s next movie project. If it works out, she will have 5 projects in the works.
EXCLUSIVE: Woody Allen has begun to cast up his next film, and it looks like Emma Stone will play his leading lady. Stone is in talks on the film. These stories are the easiest to write, since Allen keeps his plots, titles, and everything else under his hat. About all you can say is who will be in it, and I expect Stone to close a deal soon. Allen most recently completed Blue Jasmine, with Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin and Louis C.K. leading the cast. Stone has a lot going on, including the Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu-directed dark comedy Birdman, the untitled film that Cameron Crowe will direct, and she will reprise as Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
UPDATE: Here is a bit more information on Woody Allen’s next film. I’m told he will shoot in the South of France. That country certainly worked out for him in Midnight In Paris.

For the caveman family of The Croods, the Stone Age isn’t over yet. The DreamWorks Animation movie is getting a sequel, EW has confirmed.
Since its release on March 22, The Croods has scored big at the box office, earning over $386 million worldwide. It was a welcome success for the company, following the disappointing performance of DreamWorks Animation’s Rise of the Guardians in late 2012.
The Croods, about a family of cavemen on the dangerous but adventurous search for a new home, featured the voice talent of Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Nicolas Cage, and Catherine Keener. There’s no official word yet on which stars will return for the sequel or when the new film will be released.

‘She gave this awesome speech and I felt really inspired,’ ‘Perks’ star tells MTV News backstage of last year’s honoree.
Some girls hit a club with their friends, but Emma Watson celebrated her last day of being 22 by heading to the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night, where she was honored with MTV Trailblazer Award and vied for Golden Popcorn in categories including Best Kiss and Best Female Performance.
And while it may not have been obvious to fans watching her take the stage to give a heartfelt speech, backstage Watson revealed to MTV News that she was really feeling the pressure to come up with the right words for her big moment.
“It was so nice and it was just amazing,” she said of the honor. “I never really won anything like this before, so I really felt like I had to really consider it and I felt, like, a lot of pressure.
“I was actually here last year when Emma Stone won [the Trailblazer Award], and she gave this awesome speech and I felt really inspired,” the “Perks of Being a Wallflower” star continued. “And so it took a little while. But when you’re up there, it’s a completely different thing. It’s really, really nerve-racking.”
Having friends and co-stars Eddie Redmayne and Logan Lerman at the show to present the tribute probably helped Watson to calm her nerves. And, however long it took, the star eventually found just the right words.
“Becoming yourself is really hard and confusing, and it’s a process,” she said in her speech. “I was completely the eager beaver in school, I was the girl in the front of the class who was the first person to put her hand up, and it’s often not cool to be the person that puts themself out there, and I’ve often gotten teased mercilessly, but I found that ultimately if you truly pour your heart into what you believe in — even if it makes you vulnerable — amazing things can and will happen.”
The Movie Awards have wrapped but the party’s hardly over for Watson. One Monday she’ll have her Trailblazer win and her 23rd birthday to celebrate. “It’s so exciting,” she said. “I’m so old.”

Emma Stone says if she didn’t use skin oils she wouldn’t be able to move her face.
The actress shared the secrets to her flawless and natural-looking complexion. Emma says she has super sensitive skin that is prone to being dry.
“My skin is chronically dry, so when I’m traveling I take Argan oil with me. I have to put oils on my skin because it feels like I can’t move my face if I don’t!” Emma revealed to the British edition of InStyle.
The pretty star says she is also cursed with allergies that affect her beauty regime. Emma has to be careful with products as picking the wrong kind can cause her skin to react.
“As I’m allergic to a lot of fragrances, I go for gentle natural skincare, like coconut, Argan and olive oils,” she continued. “I also have a sensitivity to glycerine, which is in almost every skincare product, although it’s fine in make-up because my moisturiser acts as a barrier.”
Emma has recently landed a role as the face of beauty brand Revlon. The style icon shared which of the cosmetics company’s items she uses on herself.
“I love Revlon’s Nearly Naked make-up. It’s light so my freckles show through. I also adore Revlon’s Colorburst Lip Butter in Red Velvet – a lovely deep shade,” she explained. “To cleanse my face, I keep it simple with Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser.”
